Wardrobe basic Kameez

   A kameez is a comfortable,classic and versatile wardrobe staple in Pakistan.It is suitable for all type of occasions from casual to formal wear.Kameez can be worn in several ways and styles.They also in various lengths.Short kameez (kurta) is best for casual wear,kameez with longer length is for formal wear.In your wardrobe it should consist of short, medium and long lengths all the time,kameez with length right obove the knee is best for relaxing at home,going for a walk,or preparing food for your family or cleaning around your home,gardening and going to hilly areas....kameez with longer length things are more difficult to do,if kameez trend is longer do not follow blindly because wearing long kameez at every place things are difficult to do specially cleaning around the house or climbing hilly areas.
  In a perfect wardrobe kameez should be in different cuts and styles they are button down,A-line,kameez with slits and without slits,straight hemline and round hemline.Kameez can be made from several different fabrics,patterns and colors.They are ideal for all body types but if you have large abdomen do not wear too short it will make your abdomen more visible,the best length of kameez with large abdomen is just above or just below the knee.You can pair kameez with varity of bottoms,for casual look pair it with shalwar,for chic look wear kameez with leggings and for dressy look pair it with wide flare leg pants,never wear kameez with high slits if you are pairing it with leggings or jeans.
   In your basic wardrobe you have all scarves,bottoms,sweaters,coats and shoes are in neutral colors like black,white,gray,brown and taupe,now you should invest in 4 to 6 kameez in those colors which complement your undertone and pair with other items in your wardrobe.

  Select kameez for your wardrobe with simple patterns and styles for casual wear.As you can see these 6 kameez they are best for everyday use..they are both in neutral and bold colors...do not select kameez in shiny fabric for everyday use..
make it simple yet stylish.You can wear a tunic kameez over shalwar,pants or leggings..if you are plus size avoid heavy fabrics for choosing kameez it will add more weight to your body also do not wear kameez over tights,prefer leggings then tights...tights are skinny and will make you look more fat.

Basic Wardrobe Items and their Colors

   In order to build a basic wardrobe,you need to invest in timeless pieces in neutral colors.Neutral usually mean without color.Neutral colors such as black,white,gray,taupe,beige and khaki appear to be without color.It does not mean boring color,in west many women feel more comfortable wearing neutral colors than they do bold colors like red,yellow or pink but in Pakistan women prefer more colors to wear,too many colors will make you hard on the eye.
  Purchase only those items you like it and and feel comfortable.You don't want a closet that have pieces you will never wear.Get rid of all those clothes that don't fit or you don't like it.Give clothes to charity in good condition.Try to buy clothes for a personal improving style,it should not be a status symbol.
  Poor or rich every women has a right to look good,for this money is not important,you need to achieve fashion sense.You can't buy fashion sense with money.If you have fashion sense then it is easy to get style in low income...for that try to learn.. how to choose right fabric,which dress cut will siut you and what are the  right colors for you,e-g if a woman is fat she does not need bulky or thick fabric,she will look slim in flowing fabric with dark colors,slim woman should choose a fabric with some stucture but not too bulky..
  Now giving you some basic ideas for a basic Pakistani wardrobe items these are all suggestions,for key items you choose would depend on your budget,work,environment and lifestyle.Once you've got the basics then you can add more colors and veriety to your wardrobe.

You must have in your closet at least 3 white  and 2 black shalwars,2 black and 2 white trousers and tights also in color black and white,and 2 pair if jeans (optional) Because not every woman in Pakistan is wearing jeans..it is up to you whether you want to wear or not...
Don't forget about pajamas or shalwar wearing at night or at home, pajamas or shalwar must be loose fitting for more comfort..

Dubbata is must have  in most areas of Pakistan, 2 white and 2 black dubbatas,3 scarves in black, taupe and brown,for winter wardrobe shawls in black,white,taupe and brown are essentials for every Pakistani wardrobe.If the outfit is in solid color then go for printed shawl or scarf but with printed outfit never wear printed scarf.

       Basic handbags should also be in neutral colors like black,brown,taupe or white,handbag for everyday purpose it should be pouchy and soft not tailored handbag,tailored bags are for office use or if you are visiting your friends and reletives..another good idea for taking everyday bag is crossbody,this bag fit easily across the body for hands-free use,crossbody bag is perfect in crowd and more secure than any other bag...For weddings and parties,clutch bags in black,silver and light golden colors are best...If you like funky bags,they will never go with printed outfit try to avoid it...it will make you look more busy then actually you are.

   Without shoes any wardrobe is incomplete,basic colors for shoes are black,brown,tan and ivory,because they match with every other color...everyday shoes like flats,flip flops,slip-ons shoes and loafers....Occasional wear like,low heeled black pumps,black dressy high heels,open-toe pumps and booties..Flats,loafers,or low
heeled wedges are best for shopping or trip to grocery store...there is no need to wear high heels for shopping because you need to feel more comfort at the moment.Pair of joggers are also essential in your closet for walking,jogging or going to hilly areas.



We can't afford to live without sweaters or coats in winters.They keep us warm in winters....Again like above all wardrobe pieces invest in colors like black,brown,gray and taupe.....they work well with any other outfit color..For outer wear buy button down sweaters in black and a simple trench coat.When buying coats for yourself if it is right above the knee or shorter is the perfect length for most body figures...As we know that here in Pakistan women are wearing lots of colors and prints,on top of it the detailed sweater will never look good,always invest in simple and classic items for a basic wardrobe.
