Shalwars are wide baggy pants which are very popular among women in Pakistan,because of its comfort.It can be worn as casual,semi-formal or formal wear.Shalwar is more practical and relaxing that is why many women prefer to wear shalwars rather than pants or tights.A shalwar is worn with two other pieces of kameez (long tunic) and dupatta (long scarf).Shalwars come in an array of colors they can be blue,red,yellow,green etc it all depeds on the color of kameez.

 Most women choose wrong style of shoes with shalwars,both shalwar  and trousers have different cuts therefore shoes go with trouser does not necessarly look good on it.High heels go very well with it,heels will make you look taller and stylish.Try not to wear low heels,if you can't wear high heels than go for flats.If you want to wear pumps with shalwar than prefer open toe pumps.Likewise try to avoid boots with shalwar,they never look good with shalwar.Sandals are best choice with them especially one strap sandals.

 White shalwar is a must have for a wardrobe,it is most worn in summers because of its soothing affect and can be matched with any other colored kameez and dupatta.Select white,silver,gray,dark or light brown and red shoes with white shalwar.Never wear black shoes with it.

 Black shalwar is another wardrobe staple,it can match with any other colored kameez like blue,red etc.Choose black,gray,silver and red shoes with black shalwar,stay away from white shoes along with it.

You can match dark or light brown,beige,silver and light golden shoes with brown shalwar.

 There are many shades in blue color,go for darker shades with both items like with navy blue shalwar black,navy blue,silver,deep red and dark brown shoes will work best.

 Select black,gray,white,dark brown and red color shoes with lighter shade of blue shalwar.

 Usually red shalwar is worn in formal occasions but if your kameez is in white color than you can use it for casual wear as well.Red shalwar with red kameez and dupatta is  over powering,do not wear everything red for a softer look pair it with a light colored top.Shoes in black,gray,dark or light brown and silver will look best with red shalwar.

 With green shalwar you can select,black,dark brown,silver,light golden and deep red shoes.Choose deep red shoes with a red printed kameez and if there is golden print in your green kameez than do not wear silver shoes with green shalwar.

Tips to wear tunic (kameez) with leggings

 We Pakistani women blindly follow western outfits,which is completly wrong.Just because somthing looks good on a model on screen doesn't necessarily mean that it will look good on you as well.While looking for an outfit things like undertone, hair color and body shape should be kept in mind at all times.
  In Pakistan most women prefer shalwar pants but nowadays they're seen wearing leggings with tunics (kameez) as well.In the west leggings are suitible for every bodytype whether a woman is skinny,plus size,tall or petite.But over here it's not the case.If you are the sort of a person who likes wearing leggings here are some tips to follow.

 In the above image you can see the girl in the long white tunic with high side slits. This promotes exposure which in our society isn't considered right.Also these are not to be worn on a windy day since even the slightest breeze can.......well i'll let you figure that out for yourself :-)

  As for clothes that are best for windy places,a closed tunic is the best option.In Pakistan tunics with short lengths are a great choice for women upto the age of 30.In the sub-continent (mainly Pakistan and India)women on average are of plus size and wearing short tunics and Kameez's is either because they're unaware if their size range or it's just a desperate attempt at looking slimmer.For women of the plus size range the 'Ideal' length of the tunic would be just above or just below the knee.

When it comes to shoes,things like Pumps,flats,flip flops,,wedges,sandals and even boots go well with leggings.Avoid low heels since they are not flattering at all.If you can't wear high heels due to a back ache ankle injury or some other reason then flats or flip flops will do the trick just fine.

 Open toed pumps,flats and flip flops look great with a long kameez and leggings.Boots won't impress if you are pairing a long kameez with leggings.

 Short tunics are a great choice for teens and even women uptill the age of 30 or so.women with a large waistline should wear comparitively long kameeez with leggings.

  Try to wear shoes that match your leggings,black shoes with black leggings,white shoes with white leggings,you get the idea.it will give the illusion of an increased height while sharp contrast shoes like red with black will shorten it.

   Metallic (colored) shoes are a great choice for special occasions.Now note how the shoes don't quite match with the leggings but still manage to look great.The trick here is that it isn't necessary to wear the exact same color for both shoes and lowers,but to wear the colours of the same temperature (for the lack of a better word)that means warm or cooler colors are to be worn with the same range e.g open toed golden shoes are better choice to be worn with warm red color leggings,similerly silver sandals go well with navy blue lower,because golden is warm and silver is cool mattalic color.
